The internationally renowned Algerian artist has established himself as an emblematic figure of Raï. His music is an eclectic mix of raï and Mediterranean and Western influences, including flamenco, Greek music, as well as hip-hop, funk, reggae and Latin music genres.
In 1994, he achieved great success with the album Saïda, which sold 100,000 copies in France, whose eponymous title is a tribute to his hometown and received the double Gold Disc award in Algeria and Morocco.
