This new tour had started in September in the US, to defend "Outside", his new album, the most avant-garde for fifteen years (produced in collaboration with Brian Eno). Tipped to participate in the European tour, Morrissey, the former singer of the Smiths, had finally given up.
In Paris, which concluded this tour and after two first parts (Placebo and Electrafixion) the pop star and his group obviously created the event.
Far from the caricatures of other rockers, he gracefully displays the many facets of his singing Surrounded by a group of old accomplices (including Carlos Alomar, Reeves Cabrel and Mike Garson), he has rarely been so well supported. A young bassist, Gail-Ann Dorsey, accompanies him in a duet on Under Pressure, originally recorded with Queen. The recall is reaching new heights. A metallic cover of White Light White Heat from the Velvet Underground and, as a surprisingly lyrical apotheosis of a concert that refused to be easy, Moonage Daydream from the very classic Ziggy Stardust.
