This authentic Melusine poster is a real gem of our cultural heritage!
Printed in 1975, the poster promotes the French folk music group's debut album.
From this first eponymous album, Mélusine affirmed her musical style: polyphonies based on popular models, but open to harmonic innovation, songs accompanied strictly by traditional acoustic instruments, but with research alliances of timbres between plucked strings, bowed strings and different winds for each song.
Critics are enthusiastic: “This disc is beautiful, it is well done, without cheating; a colorful success”, says Nicolas Cayla in Rock & Folk.
This album contributed to making folk music known to the general public and to taking it out of marginal circuits by immediately hoisting Mélusine among the "flagship groups" of folk in France.
