Authentik is the band's debut studio album, released on June 3, 1991 on Sony's Epic Records label.
By January 1992, at the end of the promotional tour for the album which had started in March 1991, Authentik had sold 70,000 copies. This album is a pioneer in the landscape of French rap, as the genre had not yet, at the time, found its credibility.
It imposes itself here in force first of all with the public; NTM's fame was forged over an extensive promotional tour for the album, which began in March 1991 and ended in January 1992 at the Zenith in Paris in front of a full house. The album finally went gold in 1996, selling 100,000 copies.
