This original Orchester Rouge retro poster is a true piece of music history!
Printed in 1982, the poster promotes the album Yellow Laughter, the debut album by the French-American alternative rock band.
On the music side, it is in a style inspired by Joy Division and New York Television that this opus was conceived in Manchester and produced by Martin Hannett, the sound engineer of the Factory label. This album is a Post-punk, New-wave jewel with magical titles like “Je Cherche Une Drogue (Qui Ne Don't Hurt)” where it plays tense and tucked in.
The poster uses the visual of the album cover, a fascinating photo that refers to the Red Orchestra, a resistance organization against Nazism during the Second World War. A reference resulting from the political commitment of the singer of the group, Theo Hakola.
